At Candido Hermida we are fully aware of the importance of caring for and preserving our environment. For that reason, we work hard to establish, adapt and fulfill the most demanding environmental standards in our sector.
In 2007 the construction division obtained its first ISO 9001 and ISO 14.001 certifications in the activity of "Design and construction of commercial spaces, communities and unique solutions", certifications that were completed three years later with the OHSAS 18.001 certificate.
In the same year, 2007, in the field of manufacturing, Cándido Hermida also obtained the 9001 certification which was completed the following year with the 14.001 certification in the activity of "Manufacturing and assembly of metal furniture". As a result of this implementation, a quality system was activated in the company that consists of the application, updating and consolidation of a set of rules established by Candido Hermida to guarantee total customer satisfaction and compliance with the most demanding standards.
Once again in 2010, through innovation, adaptation to the new concept of furniture for eco-efficient spaces and stores, Inditex made us evolve towards the implementation in our company of PEFC and FSC® certification. The implementation involved changes in our operations and procedures, such as the dissemination of Chain of Custody concepts among our staff. Since then, all the wood and board used to manufacture our products has been certified.
Nowadays, the PEFC certification is a clear way to express our commitment to the responsible management of forests, a fundamental resource for our companies and for our future generations. Our Group is fully committed to sustainable forest management, rejecting the origin of wood from conflicting sources.
Grupo Cándido Hermida has a fully implemented Occupational Risk Prevention system thanks to which all risks derived from all jobs have been identified and evaluated, adopting the necessary preventive measures. For each work, a specific safety plan is elaborated, according to the requirements and needs of the client.
In this document the risk evaluation for each work position is carried out, taking into account the particular conditions of each project, tools and the material resources necessary for the development of the work in optimal safety conditions.
